WASHINGTON (AP) — “The Supreme Court is taking on a new clash between gay rights and religion in a case about a wedding cake for a same-sex couple in Colorado.
The justices said Monday they will consider whether a baker who objects to same-sex marriage on religious grounds can refuse to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.
The case asks the high court to balance the religious rights of the baker against the couple’s right to equal treatment under the law. Similar disputes have popped up across the United States.
The decision to take on the case reflects renewed energy among the court’s conservative justices, whose ranks have recently been bolstered by the addition of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the high court.” More here.> Supreme Court takes on new clash of gay rights, religion

“Many detainees are tortured into confessing crimes they didn’t even commit.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the treatment of inmates inside Kim Jong Un’s torture chambers and prison camps.
The brutality of the North Korean regime was once again cast into the international spotlight following the death of 22-year-old American student Otto Warmbier last week.
While the brutal conditions inside North Korea’s prison camps and detention centres are well documented, less is known about how the American came to be in a coma in the first place. “When Seattle officials voted three years ago to incrementally boost the city’s minimum wage up to $15 an hour, they’d hoped to improve the lives of low-income workers. Yet according to a major new study that could force economists to reassess past research on the issue, the hike has had the opposite effect.
The city is gradually increasing the hourly minimum to $15 over several years. Already, though, some employers have not been able to afford the increased minimums. They’ve cut their payrolls, putting off new hiring, reducing hours or letting their workers go, the study found.” More here.> A ‘very credible’ new study on Seattle’s $15 minimum wage has bad news for liberals

The Official US Navy “Fitzgerald” Narrative is not only totally implausible, it’s beyond ridiculous!
“Nothing illustrates better just how wrong Mr. Friedman was about US naval supremacy than the recent successful attack on the USS Fitzgerald. And make no mistake about it, this was a stealth attack with great purpose. That purpose, of course, was to show the whole world that every U.S. warship is now a sitting duck.” More here.> Stealth Attack On USS Fitzgerald Proves US Navy No Longer Controls Seven Seas
Commentary / Opinion:
RUSH: “The Supreme Court, ladies and gentlemen, has upheld Trump’s travel ban and has reinstated it. To me, this is an example of how silly and stupid we have been since Trump was — not us. There has been no question that Trump was totally constitutionally within his rights to issue this travel ban.
An act of Congress that we read to you many times explicitly granted to Trump the official constitutional powers to do exactly what he did and more if he wanted to in his travel ban. It was stayed by all these lower courts and then upheld by the U.S. Ninth Circuit. And it was only a matter of time before it got to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court reinstated it and said they’re gonna hear arguments in October.” More here.> Supreme Court Upholds Trump’s Travel Ban
