“One legacy of America’s nuclear weapons program is an incredible ongoing cost in tax dollars. Beginning with the Cold War, the U.S. produced tens of thousands of warheads at a cost of trillions of dollars. Today, we spend hundreds of billions to clean up waste from the sites that manufactured the nuclear materials, and even more to pay those exposed to health risks working at the sites. “Politicians in the Netherlands are discussing the possibility of legalizing euthanasia for healthy people. “A Catholic hospital in Canada is being accused of failing to support the rights of medical personnel who oppose euthanasia.

After the board of St. Boniface Hospital in Winnepeg approved euthanizing patients in extreme circumstances, the Catholic Health Authority took over the board and replaced its members. The order was also reversed – but with an agreement to perform assessments of patients who want to die, which was viewed as a compromise to Canadian laws.

Because the assessment is required by law, says Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, the Catholic hospital is directly involved in the act of killing a person.

“Which is morally unacceptable,” says the anti-euthanasia activist.

Canada’s Supreme Court ruled in 2015 that patients can legally ask doctors to end their lives and a federal law took effect last year.” More here.> Canadian hospital fence-walks euthanasia

“Ten-month-old Charlie Gard was sentenced to die by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Tuesday, who ruled against potentially life-saving treatment for him.

The ECHR ordered that Gard’s life support be shut off and blocked him from travel to the U.S. for an experimental treatment for which Gard’s parents raisedover $1.7 million. Doctors diagnosed the infant boy with a rare mitochondrial disease, according to a report from Daily Mail. The court labeled the Gard’s appeal case “inadmissible” and upheld the previous decision of the U.K. High Court, saying their decision in Gard’s case was “final.” More here.> Infant Sentenced To Death By European Human Rights Court
