In The News:

“An Australian woman engaged to marry an American next month was shot and killed by a Minneapolis cop Saturday night after calling police to report an incident, leading her family and investigators to question what caused the deadly shooting.

The woman, identified as Justine Damond, 40, was killed in the late-night shooting in the city’s Fulton neighborhood, Fox 9 reported. She reportedly had called to report an assault. 12189522_1507119936247693_2244827056421976498_n

“Two Minneapolis police officers responded to a 911 call of a possible assault just north of the 5100 block of Washburn Avenue S. just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday,” the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said in a news release. “At one point, an officer fired their weapon, fatally striking a woman.”

Police were trying to determine whether any video of the incident exists. The body cameras of the officers involved were not activated, according to police.” More here.> Australian woman shot dead by Minneapolis police after calling to report possible crime

“Police were quick to respond to Charleena Lyles’s call about a burglary in her apartment. Less than an hour after she dialed 911 on the morning of 18 June, she opened her door to two Seattle officers and explained that her Xbox went missing after a trip to the store.

Two minutes and 35 seconds later, the pregnant mother of four was lying on the floor, face-down, bleeding from gunshot wounds. Her one-year-old son crawled to her and rested his head on her body.

The policemen, who are both white, had fired bullets at Lyles from about 5ft away. They immediately scrambled to get the baby and two other children out of the apartment, but it was impossible to prevent them from seeing their mother, who died by the time the ambulance arrived.” More here.> Seattle insists it’s a model for progressive policing – so why was Charleena Lyles killed?

“A cop-hating Bronx teen has been kicked out of his apartment for repeatedly blasting the rap song “F–k Tha Police” from the window as thousands of NYPD cops gathered to mourn a slain colleague, the building’s superintendent said Friday.

Super Danny Morales said he ordered a tenant to get rid of Julien Rodriguez, 16, and his older sister, who had been staying in the tenant’s third-floor pad.”More Here.> Teen who blasted ‘F–k Tha Police’ at cop’s funeral booted from apartment

“A 70-year-old veteran says he’s out of a job after he tried to stop some thieves from leaving the Home Depot store where he worked. It appears what he saw as doing the right thing was against company policy.

Jim Tinney says trying to do the right thing has guided him pretty well in life.

“In the Army, they train you to do things like that,” Tinney said.

Recently, Tinney said he saw three men carrying tool sets worth thousands of dollars to the checkout area at Home Depot. He said they seemed nervous.

“One of them hollered ‘let’s go,’ and they all grabbed their kits and started heading out,” Tinney said.

Tinney said without thinking, he tossed the paint roller extension he was holding, and ran to stop one of the men.

“I just automatically went like this and threw the stick at their feet,” Tinney said.

The men ended up getting away. Tinney said he thought it was over, until two weeks later, when he was fired.” More here.> ‘I need to work’: Texas veteran says he was fired from Home Depot after confronting shoplifters

“The R&B singer R Kelly, long dogged over accusations of sexual impropriety but never convicted, has now been accused of brainwashing a series of women into what their parents describe as a “cult”.

An investigation for BuzzFeed News by Jim DeRogatis, who has long followed the trail of stories about the singer, suggests that as of summer 2016 there were at least five unnamed women involved, two of them then-teenagers over the age of consent. Their families – as well three former female acquaintances of the singer, Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee – describe Kelly as an intensely controlling person who dictates how these women dress and behave. Mack reportedly said: “You have to ask for food. You have to ask to go use the bathroom … [Kelly] is a master at mind control … He is a puppet master.”

The accusations against Kelly include that he confiscated the women’s phones, filmed sexual activity with them to show male friends and demanded the women – who call him “daddy” – ask permission to leave their rooms, rented by Kelly in buildings in Chicago and Atlanta. Jones accuses Kelly of slapping her and holding her against a tree after she was deemed to be too friendly towards a Subway employee.” More here.> R Kelly accused of physically abusing and controlling women in ‘cult’

When investigators picked through the tan split-level house on Maplecrest Drive, a textbook suburban street in Dartmouth, Mass., 60 miles south of Boston, they found something that wasn’t supposed to be there. Inside a closet, there was a secret door. Through the door was a small room. In the room, they found a walking cane.

The search last year shot momentum back into the long-stalled hunt for Donald Eugene Webb. A dog-loving jewel thief with roots in New England’s mafia circles, Webb was wanted in connection with the 1980 killing of Gregory B. Adams, a small-town Pennsylvania police chief, in the longest-running cold case involving a slain officer in U.S. history.

Late last week, local and federal authorities were back at the Maplecrest address, a home owned by Webb’s ex-wife. This time police dug through the backyard, eventually uncovering human remains, according to the Boston Globe. More here.> FBI agents spent decades searching for a mobster wanted in a cop killing. “A judge has ordered Google to hand over salary records to the government in an ongoing investigation by the US Department of Labor (DoL), which has accused the technology corporation of systematically discriminating against women.

Google must provide the federal government with a 2014 snapshot of the data, along with contact information for thousands of employees for possible interviews, according to a ruling made public on Sunday.

Judge Steve Berlin also denied part of the government’s request for records and partially sided with Google, which had argued the department’s demands were overly broad and could violate employee privacy.

The limited records Google must release could help the DoL build a formal pay discrimination case against the company, which has repeatedly refused to disclose key data in what has become one of the most high-profile court battles to date regarding wage inequality in Silicon Valley. The department argued that additional records would help explain the “extreme” gender pay gap it uncovered in an initial audit.” More here.> Google told to hand over salary details in gender equality court battle

(July 7th), “Today U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs David J. Shulkin announced that the VA is taking a further step on transparency and accountability as a follow-on to the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act signed by the President less than two weeks ago.

Beginning today, the department is making public a list of adverse employee actions taken since January 20.  This information is posted at and will be updated weekly.

Secretary Shulkin pointed to the move as another step in long-sought transparency and accountability actions at VA, and noted that the VA is the first federal agency to make such data public.  “Under this administration, VA is committed to becoming the most transparent organization in government. Together with the accountability bill the president signed into law recently, this additional step will continue to shine a light on the actions we’re taking to reform the culture at VA,” said Shulkin.

“Veterans and taxpayers have a right to know what we’re doing to hold our employees accountable and make our personnel actions transparent.  Posting this information online for all to see, and updating it weekly, will do just that,” he added.” More here.> VA expands transparency, accountability efforts

“A man is dead after falling from the sunroof of a car that was heading erratically down Interstate 405 in Kirkland, Washington, early Monday — and now the driver of the car is missing, the Washington State Patrol reports.

The bizarre incident unfolded at about 3 a.m. when witnesses called 911 to report that a blue BMW was all over the freeway as it headed down the southbound lanes of I-405 – with a man who appeared to be “car-surfing” by standing up through the vehicle’s sun roof, our affiliate KOMO reported.

The man fell out near the 85th Street interchange when the car hit a guardrail – but the driver kept going. The man who fell died at the scene. Trooper Rick Johnson described him as a young male but did not have more specifics.” More here.> A man died after falling from a car’s sunroof on the interstate, and the driver is missing

Government Corruption / Russia Collusion:

“Susan Rice is expected to face tough questions Tuesday on Capitol Hill about whether she “unmasked” President Trump associates in Russian meddling probes while serving as then-President Barack Obama’s national security adviser.

Trump alleges Rice may have committed a crime by asking government analysts to disclose the names of his associates documented in intelligence reports.

Rice is expected to address such allegations when she gives closed-door testimony Tuesday before the Republican-led House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.” More here.> Susan Rice set to face Capitol Hill questions on alleged Trump team unmasking

“Flamboyant publicist Rob Goldstone has finally found one kind of notoriety he doesn’t like, after landing in the middle of a mushrooming international controversy involving the Kremlin, the White House and a secret meeting more than a year ago.

Goldstone, a PR man for recording artists who set up the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian attorney who promised dirt on Hillary Clinton, reportedly fears for his own safety. The 57-year-old British flack is globetrotting with his much-younger companion, and posting photos from around the world on social media to “hide in plain sight,” according to reports.

He fears that if he turns up dead, it will be no accident, The Express reported, citing a longtime colleague. Goldstone’s strategy, according to Geoff Baker, also a British publicist, is to avoid New York and Russia and let everyone know where he is all the time.

“I believe the reason he’s being so blatantly transparent about his whereabouts is that, if anything does happen to him – like a car crash or being stabbed by a poison-tipped umbrella – everyone will know his death was no accident,’ Baker told the newspaper.” More here.> Rob Goldstone, publicist behind Trump Jr. meeting, reportedly in fear and hiding in plain sight

(Washington, DC) – “Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton issued the following statement in response to a July 13 Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration report, which finds the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) records management practice resulted in lost records and incomplete IRS responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and congressional inquiries.

This new report is shocking but not surprising.  We have long battled the IRS in court over its obstruction in responding to FOIA requests about Obama era IRS abuses.  It is a scandal that the Obama IRS did not tell Judicial Watch, the courts, or Congress about the loss of government records.  Our attorneys will review this report to assess whether we should seek relief and accountability from the courts.  In the meantime, President Trump should finally fire IRS Commissioner John Koskinen and direct the Justice Department to reopen its criminal inquiry into the Obama IRS abuses and cover-ups.” More here.> Judicial Watch Statement on IRS Records Scandal

Abedin Emails Show Clinton Donors Receiving Special Treatment

“Our understanding of the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s State Department continues to expand as more of her illicit server’s emails are revealed.

This week we released 448 pages of documents from the U.S. Department of State revealing new incidents of Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, providing special State Department treatment to major donors to the Clinton Foundation and political campaigns.

The heavily redacted documents from Abedin’s non-government account include an email from Hillary Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham, to Abedin revealing that he acted as a go-between for a Clinton Foundation donor, Richard Park. And they reveal Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band instructing Abedin to “show love” to Clinton donor Andrew Liveris.

The documents included six Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 439 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department, and further contradicting a statement by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails had been turned over to the State Department.”More here.> Weekly Update: Abedin Emails Show Clinton Donors Receiving Special Treatment

“On July 8, Laredo North Border Patrol agents assigned to the Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 35 encountered a tractor-trailer at the primary inspection lane.

The driver was questioned regarding his immigration status and was referred to secondary for further inspection. A closer inspection of the tractor-trailer resulted in the rescue of 33 immigrants inside the locked trailer. Each was determined to be from the countries of Mexico and Guatemala. The driver, a U.S. citizen, was arrested.” More here.> Border Patrol discovers 33 immigrants locked inside tractor-trailer

Under President Donald Trump, more Christian refugees have been admitted to the United States in the first six months of 2017 than Muslim refugees, a departure from the Obama-era.

Since Trump took office in January through June 30, nearly 9,600 refugees who are affiliated with the Christian faith have been resettled in the U.S., accounting for roughly 50 percent of all refugee resettlements, according to research by Pew.

Meanwhile, 7,250 Muslim refugees have been admitted in that same time period, or about 38 percent of all  admissions, breaking with former President Obama’s refugee resettlement norms where foreign Muslims were the largest religious group resettled in the country.

Beginning in February of this year, the share of Muslim refugees being admitted to the U.S. has increasingly gotten smaller, with the portion of Muslims dipping to just 29 percent of all refugee resettlements in May.” More here.> More Christian Refugees Arriving under Trump than Muslims

“U.S. employers are clamoring for yet more temporary workers, and a compliant Congress is cynically tasking the Trump administration with the final decision about whether to admit them.

The latest federal appropriations bill, which funds the government through the end of the fiscal year, includes a designed loophole that authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to issue as many as double the H-2B visas, which is technically capped at 66,000 a year. The move effectively shifts responsibility for admitting more foreign workers from Congress to the administration.

The H-2B program — designed to fill temporary, semi-skilled nonagricultural jobs in such sectors as tourism, hospitality, and landscaping – has drawn criticism from President Trump for undercutting working-class Americans.

From 2013 to 2016, annual H-2B visas rose from 58,000 to 85,000, thanks to loosened eligibility requirements set by Congress. Midway through this fiscal year, employers sought approval for 121,000 H-2B workers.

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., quietly applied more grease with an appropriations provision exempting former H-2B workers from any caps at all. This followed defunding of Department of Labor audits into temporary foreign-worker recruitment records, making it even easier for H-2B employers to bypass U.S. workers.” More here.> CONGRESS PASSES THE BUCK FOR CHEAP WORKER VISAS

Commentary / Opinion:

“Why am I FRUSTRATED, ANGRY, and ALARMED?  Why am I more DETERMINED than ever to press through to full and complete victory in America?  The reasons are many but let me offer something that may help explain my sentiments and hopefully will encourage you to either become or stay involved in the process and reject the temptation to throw in the towel and concede even in victory.  The primary root of my angst isREPUBLICANS in Washington.  Do I mean every Republican is deserving of this FRUSTRATION, ANGER, and ALARM?  No, some of them are fighting devotedly for what they promised the American voters in November and in previous elections.  However, the Establishment Republican Hierarchy is anything but on board with the Promises to the People made in the 2016 Campaigns and Election.  Those Republicans who are part of the RESISTANCE are the focus of my frustration and I am on a mission to see them evicted from their perches in the next election cycle in which they are up for a vote.

The Republicans holding the line for keeping Senate Procedures that allow the Democrats to filibuster, block, stall, and derail much, if not most, of the Trump agenda and the Republican Promises, appointees, and refuse to ACT definitively and positively for America and Americans are the problem.  If any of those Republicans truly believe that were the situation reversed the Democrats would allow anything to block their agenda, they are delusional.  Once, Harry Reid exercised the NUCLEAR OPTION and forced Obamacare and other things down our throats the gate was opened to never be closed again.  Republicans asked for the House and we gave it to them.  They asked for the Senate and we gave it to them.  They asked for the White House and we gave it to them.  If they fail to act now and allow the losing party that is in the minority to control the agenda, determine the outcome of legislation and appointments they deserve to be ousted at the earliest possible opportunity.” More here.> FRUSTRATED, ANGRY, ALARMED but MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER…

Dennis Prager: Media more of a threat than Russia

“Last week, The Atlantic rendered a great service to those of us who contend that America is in the midst of a civil war between the right and the left. It provided a smoking gun — actually, the gunshot itself — to those of us who contend that the left (never to be confused with liberals) is intent on dismantling Western civilization.

It published articles by two left-wing writers, one by Peter Beinart titled “The Racial and Religious Paranoia of Trump’s Warsaw Speech,” and one by its national correspondent, James Fallows, written on the same theme as Beinart’s.

The subject of both articles was President Donald Trump’s speech in Warsaw, Poland, last week, a speech described by The Wall Street Journal as “a determined and affirmative defense of the Western tradition.”

Beinart begins his piece saying: “In his speech in Poland on Thursday, Donald Trump referred 10 times to ‘the West’ and five times to ‘our civilization.’ His white nationalist supporters will understand exactly what he means. It’s important that other Americans do, too.”

And Fallows begins saying, “what he called ‘civilization’ … boils down to ties of ethnicity and blood.”

Is there one liberal or conservative American who thinks that the words “the West” and “Western civilization” mean a celebration of white-blood purity?

The West’s disdain for its own values seems to getting increasingly strident with each passing day. President Trump is making an important and laudable effort to reverse this trend. He’s walking in good company. In an address to the Pan-American Scientific Congress in Washington, D.C., on May 10, 1940, then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Americans might have to become the guardian of Western culture, the protector of Christian civilization.” FDR frequently spoke about protecting both Western and Christian civilization.

We owe a debt of gratitude to The Atlantic, CNN (whose senior White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny described Trump’s address as a “white America, America first kind of speech”) and others. They have made it clear that the left has contempt for Western civilization and therefore constitutes the greatest threat to its survival.” More here.> The Atlantic Publishes All You Need to Know About the Left
