In a 2-1 ruling, an 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel vacated preliminary injunctions a federal judge issued preventing the state from suspending any Medicaid payments for services rendered to patients from Planned Parenthood. “Time to break out the giant bird masks — the plague is back.

Well, if you live in Arizona, at least.

Officials in two Arizona counties have issued a public health warning, noting that fleas in the area have tested positive for the disease. Navajo County and Coconino County are both located in the northern part of the state.

A public health warning stated, “Navajo County Health Department is urging the public to take precautions to reduce their risk of exposure to this serious disease, which can be present in fleas, rodents, rabbits and predators that feed upon these animals. The disease can be transmitted to humans and other animals by the bite of an infected flea or by direct contact with an infected animal.” More here.> Time to break out the giant bird masks: the plague has hit Arizona

The ACLJ just received a letter from the FBI bureaucracy informing us that it has “reopened” our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request into the clandestine meeting between former Obama Attorney General Lynch and former President Clinton while the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI were conducting a criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton.” More here.> FBI “Reopening” ACLJ FOIA Request on Clinton-Lynch Meeting After being Caught in a Lie

“Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley is demanding plaintiffs of three separate lawsuits filed against President Trump, who claim the president violated an obscure Constitutional provision known as the Emoluments Clause, should also consider investigating violations allegedly committed by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, since the basis of their lawsuits also implicate the former presidential candidate. The clause prohibits any person holding office from receiving gifts or payments from foreign governments without the consent of Congress and the chairman says the overwhelming evidence against Clinton should be made part of the ongoing lawsuits, which he says are both “partisan and narrow.” More here.> Sen. World News:

“New satellite images claim to show a new Iranian-style long-range missile factory being built in Syria, according to an Israeli geospatial imagery company.

The images purportedly show a long-range missile facility under construction near Baniyas, Syria, near the country’s west coast. They were taken by the Eros B satellite, which is operated by ImageSat International. ISI’s analysis noted the alleged missile factories resemble similar Iranian missile factories near Tehran, the Iranian capital.” More here.> New satellite images claim to show Assad is building an Iranian-style missile factory

“President Trump has been having a rough few weeks and could use a win. So why isn’t he crowing about what seems to be an important victory in getting Germany to pay its fair share for defense of the Western world?

It’s no secret that Trump and Germany’s chancellor, Angela Merkel, regard one another warily. They have different world views and little regard for each other’s opinions. Yet, the president has achieved a major – if largely overlooked — win: Merkel’s government has pledged to live up to its promise to increase its funding of NATO, the defense alliance to which both the U.S. and Germany belong.

Merkel committed to earmark two percent of German gross domestic product for NATO by 2024, a significant increase from the 1.2 percent it currently contributes.” More here.> A much-needed Trump victory: Germany keeps its promise

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – “The United States on Wednesday laid down a tough line for modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement, demanding major changes to the pact that would reduce U.S. trade deficits with Mexico and Canada and increase U.S. content for autos.

Speaking at the start of the talks in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump’s top trade adviser, Robert Lighthizer, said Trump was not interested in “a mere tweaking” of the 23-year-old pact, which he blames for hundreds of thousands of job losses to Mexico.

“We feel that NAFTA has fundamentally failed many, many Americans and needs major improvement,” Lighthizer, the U.S. Trade Representative, said in an opening statement.” More here.> U.S. takes tough lines as NAFTA negotiations begin
