“Irma spun into a monster storm Tuesday morning with sustained winds topping 180 mph, becoming the strongest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded outside the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, National Hurricane Center forecasters said in their 11 a.m. advisory.
As the hurricane churns closer to the U.S. coast, its path becomes more certain, with South Florida, particularly the Keys, increasingly likely to take a hit. Tropical storm force winds could arrive as early as Friday. Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for all 67 counties and has all 7,000 members of the state’s National Guard to report to duty on Friday.” More here.> Irma becomes strongest Atlantic hurricane outside Gulf and Caribbean ever recorded

“Victims of Hurricane Harvey have spoken out after landlords demanded rent from their flooded, uninhabitable homes.
As they piece their lives back together, buying new furniture and other belongings after replacing those lost and finding alternate accommodation, some have been slapped with fees from landlords, who demand rent for the flooded homes the victims had to flee.
“We are paying rent for somewhere we can’t live in. They said ‘you aren’t the only ones in this situation’, but what are we supposed to do? We don’t have any money. We don’t have anything.”
Texas property code states that if a property is “totally unusable” due to a disaster then either the landlord or tenant can terminate the lease through written notice.
However, if the property is deemed “partially unusable” because of a disaster, a tenant may only get a reduction in rent determined by a county or district court.
Many people are still living in shelters and relying on handouts to live after Hurricane Harvey.” More here.> Landlords demand rent for flooded homes from Hurricane Harvey victims
“A convicted felon is accused of dragging his step granddaughter into the woods in the middle of the night and raping her, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Darrell Mills, 50, is facing a number of charges, including sexual battery on a child under 12 and kidnapping a child younger than the age of 13.
The 11-year-old girl’s disappearance led to a massive manhunt Sunday in the Apopka area and the issuance of an Amber Alert. A citizen saw the suspect and girl and flagged down a deputy, ending the eight-hour search.” More here.> Felon dragged step granddaughter into the woods, raped her, deputies say

At a minimum he could serve eight years” More here.> Man accused of running over Orlando police officer reaches plea deal
“Rev. Franklin Graham recently condemned the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for categorizing a number of nationally recognized Christian organizations as “hate groups.”
The president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) believes that it is absolutely ridiculous that respected pro-family groups are being targeted by the ultra-Left organization – and getting away with it.
“Why? … Simply because they hold to the teaching of God’s Word on moral issues such as homosexuality and same-sex marriage,” Graham posted on his Facebook account.
Legal action against SPLC was recently announced over the matter.” More here.> F. Graham blasts SPLC as the real haters
INCYMI: WASHINGTON — “The Department of Homeland Security took a critical step Thursday toward building the wall promised by President Donald Trump along the U.S. southern border.
Officials of Customs and Border Protection announced they’ve awarded contracts to four companies that will build different prototypes — individual examples of what the wall should look like. Once those sections are evaluated, the government will decide which design is best for building hundreds of miles of new barrier along the border with Mexico.” More here.> Trump Wall Moves Forward With Firms Tapped for Designs
“The Trump administration on Tuesday announced the “orderly wind down” of the Obama-era program that gave a deportation reprieve to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children – putting pressure on Congress to come up with a replacement.
“I do not favor punishing children, most of whom are now adults, for the actions of their parents. But we must also recognize that we are a nation of opportunity because we are a nation of laws,” President Trump said, in a lengthy written statement explaining the decision.” More here.> Trump administration ends DACA, with 6-month delay

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday said President Trump made a “responsible” decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“Early this morning, a North Korean diplomat described his country’s missile tests as “gift package[s],” warning the U.S. to expect more if the Trump administration continues with its “reckless provocations.” “The recent self-defense measures by my country DPRK are gift package addressed to none other than the U.S.,” said North Korea’s ambassador to Switzerland, Han Tae Song. Han is referring to North Korea’s hydrogen-bomb test, conducted on Sunday. Early this morning, a report published by Asia Business Daily claimed North Korea was spotted moving an ICBM, supposedly in preparation for another missile test.” More here.> North Korea’s Sixth Missile Test: An Update from the Weekend

Sept. 5 (UPI) — “China’s hesitation to cut off North Korea’s oil supply may be attributed to reasons that go beyond fears of regime collapse and a flood of refugees at the border.
Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun reported Tuesday China might have more immediate economic reasons to avoid an oil embargo on North Korea, which receives 90 percent of its oil imports from the world’s second-largest economy.” More here.> Report: North Korea oil sanctions a challenge for China

“As the GOP’s latest, half-hearted effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act crashed and burned this summer, the Left celebrated. President Obama’s signature policy lives. Still, it’s not at all certain that it won’t soon succumb to natural causes. As insurers continue to flee the Obamacare markets, choices are reduced, plans are canceled, and premiums skyrocket, we’re left with a status quo that appears unsustainable.
If replacing Obamacare is not a matter of “if” but “when,” the billion-dollar question is: what will that replacement look like? With Republicans floundering and much of their congressional delegation too cowardly to give free-market reforms a chance,” More here.> After Experiencing British And U.S. Health Care, This Family Says Single-Payer Is Abominable
WASHINGTON — “Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) will convene a hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, to discuss health care. The hearing, “Health Care: Issues Impacting Cost and Coverage” will occur at 10 a.m. in Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 215.
“In the seven years since Obamacare was signed into law, healthcare premiums have skyrocketed and in turn middle-class Americans have been saddled with increasingly higher taxes and healthcare costs,” Hatch said. “In fact, middle-class families have seen their spending on health care increase in the double digits and many of these families receive no additional assistance to help mitigate the impact of these rising costs. As Obamacare continues to fail, Congress must do more than simply bailout what has proven to be a broken system. This hearing will allow Senate Finance Committee members to hear from experts about the drivers of increasing healthcare costs and the importance of significant, long-term reforms to Obamacare.” More here.> Hatch Announces Hearing to Review Issues Impacting Healthcare Costs and Coverage
Commentary / Opinion:
“The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) got its start during the Civil Rights movement of the ‘70s. In those days the SPLC was a hero for targeting racist organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), Neo-Nazi groups (e.g. Aryans and Skin Heads) and other racist hate groups. Good stuff, right?
Well the major victories of the Civil Rights movement at least on legal ground has leveled the playing field in the rule of law. Certainly racism still exists in America, but racial minorities have the law on their side to prevent racial exploitation on an overt basis. The racism that is growing now in the America is largely the result of Left-Wing groups stirring up strife with race-baiting in an effort to gain votes. Leftist race-baiting has been a political instrument for the last couple of decades to hinder traditional American values that began to regain sway with the Presidential Administrations of Reagan, Bush II and now populist Conservatism with the surprise election of President Donald Trump.
Since the Left can hardly believe they lost to President Trump, they have done everything to lie, obstruct and manufacture anti-Trump accusations ever since that first Tuesday in November 2016.
The SPLC is doing their part for the Left by labeling Biblical Family Values organizations as hate groups. There are several groups on the SPLC so-called hate list that are simply Biblical Christian or telling the truth about Islam that I am not going to name here. The Christian ones of interest to me are the Liberty Counsel (LC), Family Research Council (FRC) and American Family Association (AFA).” More here.> Exposing SPLC as Hate Group

“By setting off a 100-kiloton bomb, after firing a missile over Japan, Kim Jong Un has gotten the world’s attention.
What else does he want?
Almost surely not war with America. For no matter what damage Kim could visit on U.S. troops and bases in South Korea, Okinawa and Guam, his country would be destroyed and the regime his grandfather built annihilated.
“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting,” wrote Sun Tzu. Kim likely has something like this in mind.
His nuclear and missile tests have already called the bluff of George W. Bush who, in his “axis of evil” speech, declared that the world’s worst regimes would not be allowed to acquire the world’s worst weapons.
Arguably the world’s worst regime now has the world’s worst weapon, an H-bomb, with ICBMs to follow.” More here.> Should Japan and South Korea Go Nuclear?
