“Nation-sponsored hackers have penetrated the operational networks multiple US and European energy companies use to control key parts of the power grid that supplies electricity to hundreds of millions of people, researchers warned Wednesday.
The incursions detected by security firm Symantec represent a dramatic escalation by a hacking group dubbed Dragonfly, which has been waging attacks against US and European energy companies since at least 2011. In 2014, Symantec reported that Dragonfly was aggressively establishing beachheads in a limited number of target networks, mainly by stealing the user names and passwords used to restrict access to legitimate personnel. Over the past year, the hacking group has managed to compromise dozens of energy firms and, in a handful of cases, install backdoors in the highly sensitive networks the firms use to supply power to the grid.” More here.> Hackers lie in wait after penetrating US and Europe power grid networks

“President Donald Trump, siding with Democrats over his fellow Republicans, agreed on Wednesday that Congress should pass an extension of the U.S. debt limit until Dec. 15, a government funding bill covering the same period and disaster aid for Hurricane Harvey victims, Democratic leaders said.
“Both sides have every intention of avoiding default in December and look forward to working together on the many issues before us,” Schumer and Pelosi said in a statement.
A source briefed on the meeting with Trump said Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and all Republicans at the White House meeting argued for a debt limit increase for a longer period. “Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, responded to the media backlash over President Trump’s decision to end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), reminding critics of the origins of the program.
“President Obama himself, if you look at his comments…from 2010 and 2011 talking about ‘it is Congress who makes the immigration laws,’ that is true. The Constitution does not support this and that President Obama’s memorandum from DHS at the time initiated this program and never intended it to be permanent,” Conway told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney on Varney & Co” More here.> DACA: Obama had 60 Democratic senators who failed to make it permanent law, Kellyanne Conway says
“Judicial Watch applauds the Trump administration’s decision to rescind the Obama administration amnesty program for 800,000 illegal aliens. “A new report has shown that the number of fatal shootings in Sweden is up to four to five times that in Germany and the number of hand grenade attacks is on par with Mexico.
Sweden per capita has a rate of gun crime resulting in fatalities four to five times that of its neighbour Norway or Germany according to a new report.
