US citizen stranded in Afghanistan tearfully describes efforts to leave, says State Dept not helping
On the phone, Julie told Perino that she “came to get married in Afghanistan and return to her life with her family back there.”
But then, the “Taliban came in and everything changed” in recent weeks. Julie said that Wilson is “the best lifeline” for her because the State Department said it couldn’t help.
“I call them so many times and email them. They just take the phone and say ‘I am sorry, we can’t do anything for you.’ That’s the answer. I said what is going on with you guys? I am a U.S. citizen,” she said.
When Julie could not continue to tell her story out of emotion, Wilson finished what the American stranded in Afghanistan wanted to say.
Some of the loudest voices calling for the resettlement of tens of thousands of Afghan refugees in the United States have come from Washington, D.C. – and yet the nation’s capital won’t be receiving any of the initial wave of refugees.
California (5,255) and Texas (4,481) will receive the largest numbers of the first wave, while smaller populated states like Oklahoma and Missouri will receive 1,800 and 1,200 respectively. Michigan, Florida and Georgia will both receive more than 1,000 Afghans each. New York will receive 1,143 and Arizona will receive 1,610.
It is the first wave of what White House officials have said will be 95,000 refugees in the first fiscal year.
The intention is to bring in 65,000 immediately and another 30,000 over the next year, officials told reporters on a recent call. It has also made a $6.4 billion request for funding related to resettlement, and the ability to give green cards to those paroled.
The bizarre incident started on New Year’s Day when Morgan Metzer, who was divorced from Rodney Metzer only a month earlier, woke up to find a masked man standing in her bedroom doorway.
The man’s voice was distorted, and he attacked her, beating her with a gun. He then tied Morgan’s hands behind her back and put a pillowcase over her head before leaving her on the back deck of the home.
Morgan told FOX 5 that she could feel the man’s finger on the gun’s trigger and that he strangled her twice.
“On his way out he kept saying ‘You messed up You’re going to be fine but we can’t say that about your ex-husband. You’re really going to miss him,’” Morgan recalled.
A South Florida mother of two told “Fox & Friends” Friday she was “very shocked” to receive a notice from her landlord to get vaccinated within two weeks or face eviction from her apartment.
“There was no loophole, no working with me, no extensions and I literally had to walk away,” said Jasmine Irby, saying she was concerned about having an eviction on her record if she could not get the shot in time.
“It was either get the shot or get out,” she told host Pete Hegseth, adding she’s still looking for another place to live.
Tourists were captured on camera attacking a hostess at Carmine’s Italian restaurant in New York City after asking for proof of vaccination.
The attack occurred Thursday afternoon just before 5 p.m. when three female tourists from Texas visited Carmine’s on the Upper West Side. The hostess’s necklace was also broken during the incident, according to the NYPD, and she was left with bruises and scratches to her face and arms.
The women, Kaeita Nkeenge Rankin, 44, and Tyonnie Keshay Rankin, 21, both from Humble, along with Sally Rechelle Lewis, 49, of Houston, were subsequently arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief. They were given desk appearance tickets and released.

Naylor-Legg allegedly sent photos of the girl’s naked body to Clay prior to the encounter.
Then in June, she agreed to bring the minor to a rendezvous spot. Clay arrived in a police vehicle and wearing his uniform. He allegedly made the girl perform oral sex on him before raping her on top of the police vehicle while Naylor-Legg was present.
On the second occasion, the three allegedly met at a police substation inside a city-owned community center. Investigators later found DNA evidence from both Clay and the minor present inside the substation.
The Post added that Clay and Naylor-Legg were also engaging in sexual intercourse and that one time,
His behavior was not only disgraceful and reprehensible; it was also corrupt: He abused his position for his personal gratification.
Every day he remains in office is a stain on the Denver Public Schools board; a slap at all students and their families, and a horrible example for the state’s largest school district to set for all the others.
Like the 17-year-old Douglas County high schooler he began pursuing over Snapchat while he was campaigning in 2018. As chronicled in the report, he pressed her for a sleepover at his place then hurled insults at her when she rebuffed him. The teen later told investigators, “He made me feel extremely uncomfortable and scared to go places in the case I would see him.”
Or, the 16-year-old Denver Public Schools student to whom he sent overtures via text and Facebook just last year.
“Do you still stay with family or do you have your own spot?” he asked at one point — later insisting for the record he didn’t know her age at the time.

‘Lara Logan Has No Agenda’ host blasts Biden’s border plan on ‘Kennedy’ #FoxBusiness
“RINO Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, who has poorly represented his district in the Great State of Ohio, has decided to quit after enduring a tremendous loss of popularity, of which he had little, since his ill-informed and otherwise very stupid impeachment vote against the sitting President of the United States, me,” Trump said.
“This is no loss for Ohio or our Country and, most importantly, we have a great candidate who was substantially leading Gonzalez in the polls, Max Miller, who I have given my Complete and Total Endorsement,” he continued. “Max is a tremendous person who will represent Ohio well. Good riddance to Anthony, he can now get himself a job at ratings-dead CNN or MSDNC!”

The complaint further alleged that the borrowed white Brother Vellies gown worn by AOC — which featured the words “Tax The Rich” scrawled on the back in red lettering — constituted an impermissible gift because it was “directly related to AOC’s ‘position with the House’ as a highly visible and controversial Member.”
“If AOC had not been a Member, she would not have been invited to the Gala,” the document read, “and even if she would have been invited as a private citizen, the designer would not have made a special dress for her to wear at the event.”
The NLPC also claimed that the second-term lawmaker “may have violated” House rules by accepting “related gifts before, during, or after the event, including … limousine service, the use of the Carlyle Hotel, professional hair and makeup services, and any other related services or goods.”
Among those killed was Zemerai Ahmadi, an Afghan man employed 15 years by Nutrition & Education International, a US-based humanitarian aid organization. Some of the children killed in the strike are Ahmadi’s own nieces and nephews, his brothers told Associated Press.
After the strike, an explosion of greater intensity than expected was observed, leading the strike cell to believe the strike detonated explosive materials intended to be used against U.S. forces.
Intelligence later showed that the explosion actually included a secondary explosion when a nearby propane tank exploded.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley released a statement saying, “In a dynamic high threat environment, the commanders on the ground had appropriate authority and had reasonable certainty that the target was valid but after deeper post strike analysis our conclusion is that innocent civilians were killed.”
