In The News:
Most of us followed the day’s events on TV or social media but seeing the still pictures documenting the raid on the Capitol by violent protesters brings a level of detail and nuance that other media formats are unable to capture.
Here’s the story of January 6, 2021, in pictures.
Over 1,000 people injected with a new COVID-19 vaccine have experienced an adverse event, with hundreds being taken to emergency rooms.
One patient in Michigan on Dec. 16, 2020, became lightheaded and dizzy, and experienced chest tightness and hand tingling. She repeatedly told doctors, “I think I am having a panic attack.” She was sent to the emergency room for evaluation.
That’s one of 308 reports from patients sent to hospital emergency rooms documented on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). That represents 0.0064 percent of the total vaccinations done, 4.8 million, as of Jan. 5.
According to Graveley, Medrano lived with what the prosecutor described as Medrano’s blended family, including his father, stepmother, three young relatives, two aged 15 and one 10, and his own 6-year-old daughter at a home in the 900 block of 48th Street.
Kenosha Police were called to the house at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible sex crime and found that the panicked children had run to a neighbor’s home for help, the neighbor calling police.
When officers went into the family’s home, they found the parents dead. Police had not yet released the victims’ names as of Thursday afternoon.
“No one has contacted us,” a family member told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “No official person has gotten back to us despite the many phone calls.”
Babbitt’s ex-husband, Timothy McEntee, said she was “a wonderful woman with a big heart and a strong mind.”
The two were married for 14 years, divorcing in 2019.
“I am in a state of shock and feel absolutely terrible for her family,” McEntee said.
“She loved America with all her heart. It’s truly a sad day.”
REST IN PEACE: Ashli Babbit.
A 35-year-old California woman and Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt, was among the mob that gathered in support of President Trump and broke into the Capitol on Wednesday to stop Congress from formally certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory.
Sund said that medical assistance was given to Babbitt “immediately” and she was transported to the hospital after being shot by the Capitol Police employee, who was not identified. But Babbitt ultimately died of her injuries later Wednesday.
As more Los Angeles class submarines, which have functioned well for decades, retire, there will be a fast-evolving and pressing need for larger numbers of submarines to replace them and also advance the technical curve by engineering a new generation of attack submarine capability.
“Analysis is ongoing to reach the goal of more consistently procuring three SSNs [nuclear submarines] per year,” the plan says.
The plan cites what it calls an “adjustment” in funding for a large 12-ship multiyear buy of the emerging Block VI Virginia-class attack boats.
This is extremely significant in a number of key respects as the emerging Block VI boats, underway with conceptual development and prototyping, will incorporate new attack submarine technologies designed to improve performance and expand mission scope.
The chaos in the nation’s capital came as hundreds of people gathered in state capitals from Georgia to New Mexico, with many carrying flags and waving signs that read “Stop the steal” and “Four more years.”
Some carried guns in places like Oklahoma, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Washington state.
While most demonstrations were peaceful, with some remaining small in size, there were reports of scuffles breaking out in states like Utah, Oregon and California.

After the storming of the Capitol on Wednesday, there are several Democrats calling for Trump to be “removed from office” despite having nothing to do with what happened.
The Democratic Party has zero moral high ground on this issue. They’ve done nothing to quell the violence and unrest on their side, which started right after Trump won the presidency.
The media won’t bring this up, but in the aftermath of Trump’s election in November 2016, the left began protesting—and those protests typically ended in violence.
Roughly 4,000 protesters gathered in downtown Portland the Thursday following the election, chanting “We reject the president-elect!” before heading over to Portland’s Pearl District, “where the windows of several businesses were smashed.”
Joe Biden promised Georgians a $2,000 check if they elected his party’s Senate candidates in the state’s runoff elections, and his bribery worked, with Democrats winning both, handing them control of the White House and Congress again.
Biden keeps talking about the need to “heal” the nation, which seems to fit the precarious position his party is in at the moment. Even if he believes that, his party doesn’t.
And Democrats have been clear about the priorities they will pursue should they get control of the White House and Congress again.
The stated goal today is to ensure a permanent Democratic majority so they can finally get their far-left agenda enacted.
In other words, they want to replicate what Democrats have already achieved in California.
In a memo addressed to presidential appointees and shared with POLITICO, White House deputy chief of staff Chris Liddell asked staffers to submit a letter of resignation no later than noon on Jan. 20.
“As we prepare for a transition of power, we must take appropriate measures to ensure this is done in an orderly manner,” wrote Liddell, who has been coordinating transition efforts for the White House.
The memo, which was sent to Cabinet and executive agency heads who were asked to share it with presidential appointees in their organizations, included draft resignation templates for staffers to fill out and send.
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th.
I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted,” Trump said through Dan Scanvino, the White House deputy chief of staff for communications.
“While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”
There are three reasons the Democrats are trying to erase gender: to erode parental rights, to break up the traditional nuclear family, and to eliminate objective truth so you can’t argue against their ideology.

The latest Chinese combat system for soldiers is built with a self-destruct device that can kill soldiers operating it. And commanders can execute soldiers remotely.

Lawyers defend others’ rights, but in China, some of them become victims themselves. Their relatives can even lose their lives due to suppression by authorities.

There were THOUSANDS of Trump supporters at the Capitol protests Wednesday who did not partake in the riot, the building breach, or the overall chaos.
Paul, a listener of the Glenn Beck Program, tells Glenn he attended with his daughter, who wanted to use the event as the subject of a school paper on free speech.
Paul describes how the crowd felt ‘different’ upon arrival and how it grew ‘angry’ when rumors spread that the election fight was over.
But, despite the chaos that ensued, we must remember there were thousands of freedom-loving, PEACEFUL protesters in attendance…protesters just like Paul.
Politics is interesting in America. There’s a repeated pattern that emerges when you look into it. Certain factors and elements rise up, and the media lies about them aggressively.
They frame the new emerging development as something it is not — as the most extreme version of what it could be.
And then the call engenders a response — the very thing the media frames this development as comes to fruition in a new and more virulent form.
What happened yesterday didn’t depress me the way it seemed to depress other people.
Maybe that’s because I don’t view the institution of the Capitol as sacred the way others do.
As a former staffer, I’ve known too many stories about the nooks and crannies where Ted Kennedy did stuff to get too verklempt about it.
And the invaders stayed inside the velvet ropes in Statuary Hall, which I actually care about. But it’s disturbing for a lot of reasons, two in particular that stick out.
