Supreme Court Rules Government Must Have Probable Cause to Monitor Cellphone Location Long-Term

On Friday, the Supreme Court announced its ruling in Carpenter v. United States, a privacy case. In a 5-4 decision, the Court ruled that the FBI could not obtain cell-site location information (CSLI) over a long period of time on a suspect without probable cause.

The Court ruled that the Fourth Amendment “protects not only property interests but certain expectations of privacy as well.” The cell-site records in question “give the Government near perfect surveillance and allow it to travel back in time to retrace a person’s whereabouts, subject only to the five-year retention policies of most wireless carriers.”

In Obamacare suit, Jeff Sessions calls for return of ‘discriminatory premium rates’

The Trump administration is planning to drop health insurance protections for consumers with pre-existing health conditions, according to legal filings signed off on by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Texas and nearly a dozen other Republican states have been fighting the Affordable Care Act since Obama was in office and filed a new lawsuit in February once again attempting to strike the law down.

In a legal brief filed in mid-June in response to the ongoing lawsuit, the DOJ agreed with the states, at least when it comes to gutting what is perhaps Obamacare’s most popular provision, the mandate that prevents health insurers from charging consumers higher rates if they have “pre-existing conditions.”

The DOJ’s legal brief, which is just the start of a lengthy policy battle, requests that the federal district judge in Texas presiding over the case invalidate pricing protections for people with pre-existing conditions. But the DOJ’s filing also asks District Judge Reed O’Connor to refrain from making a decision on the matter until January 2019, safely after the midterm elections this fall.

The First Burger Restaurant Run By A Robot Is Opening In San Francisco

As order kiosks replace cashiers in McDonald’s and other “Fight for $15” fast-food restaurants, a restaurant startup that’s opening in San Francisco next week will feature what would be a milestone in the history of food service (and also the latest sign that robots are about to take over far more fast-food jobs): On June 27, the restaurant will become the first to serve burgers cooked and assembled by a robot.2018.06.21burger

According to Bloomberg, the burger will be assembled and cooked in a machine that contains 20 computers, 350 sensors, and 50 actuator mechanisms – and zero human interference, other than having somebody present to hand the finished burger to customers.

The company, called Creator, was founded by entrepreneur Alex Vardakostas in 2012. The 33-year-old has had experiencing working in burger restaurants since he was young; growing up in Southern California, his family owned the A’s Burgers chain, as well as several other restaurants.

Tank-killing robot revealed

A new robot will be able to stealthily approach an enemy tank – and destroy it.

This is no ordinary robot – it is missile toting one. A smart robot that can conduct missions to destroy enemy tanks entirely by itself.

Milrem Robotics has teamed up with missile specialist MBDA. Together, they are building a smart robot, armed with powerful missiles, designed to obliterate enemy tanks.

If successful, this revolutionary robot would mean the U.S. military could send in robots to stop a wave of enemy tanks rather than putting U.S. troops at risk.

Millennials have newfound optimism about the economy since Trump took office

Has the Trump economic boom spurred a newfound optimism in debt-ridden millennials? A recent survey from TD Ameritrade of more than 1,500 Americans aged between 21 to 37 reports that 53 percent hope to be millionaires at some point. About 7 percent predict it will happen by the time they turned 30, 19 percent by age 40, 16 percent by age 50 and 7 percent by age 60 or later.

After eight years of misery under the Obama administration, things are finally starting to look up for the millennial generation. Since Trump took office, nearly 3 million jobs have been created and wage growth hasn’t been this high since the Bush administration. Meanwhile, unemployment is at a historic low.

According to Gallup, 67 percent of Americans believe now is a good time to find a quality job.

Police officer fired after pulling over, detaining daughter and boyfriend

An Ohio police officer was fired after an internal investigation discovered he had abused his power after pulling over and detaining his daughter and her boyfriend without cause.

John Kovach Jr., a 26-year veteran, was fired after the Lorain Police Department found the traffic stop was an “abuse of power.”

Dashcam footage from the patrolman’s cruiser showed the officer pulling over a silver car on April 16, the Chronicle-Telegram reported. The car contained three passengers: Katlyn Kovach, 18, his daughter; Makai Coleman, 18, her boyfriend and a friend. The footage showed that Kovach did not tell dispatch that he pulled over a car.

Trump To Congress: “Stop Wasting Time” On Immigration Until We “Elect More Republicans In November”

A day after the US House of Representatives rejected a hardline immigration bill (support for the measure tanked after President Trump tweeted that it was probably doomed in the Senate, anyway, thanks to Democratic opposition) and punted on a key vote on a comprehensive “compromise” immigration bill to next week with the hopes of securing 218 votes, President Trump tweeted Friday morning that Republicans should stop “wasting their time” on an immigration plan and instead wait until after the midterms to revisit the issue.

In a follow up tweet, Trump insisted that if we “elect more Republicans in November…we will pass the finest, fairest and most comprehensive Immigration Bills anywhere in the world.”

Rasmussen: Voters Blame Parents Illegally Crossing Border for Separations

Most voters, when asked who is to blame for separating the families found illegally crossing the border, blamed the parents and not the government, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.

Rasmussen asked voters: “When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, who is more to blame – the parents for breaking the law or the federal government for enforcing the law?”

Trump rips media for ignoring Angel Families ‘permanently separated’ by illegal immigrant crime

President Trump on Friday blasted what he described as a media double standard on immigration, as he honored families whose loved ones were killed by illegal immigrants and accused the press of ignoring them to focus on the plight of migrants caught crossing the border.

After a week of saturation coverage on illegal immigrant parents separated from their children — a policy Trump reversed under public and political pressure — the president stressed that so-called Angel Families have been “permanently separated.”

The families, whose children and other relatives were killed by illegal immigrants, echoed that message during the White House event.

Mexican presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) called for mass immigration to the United States during a speech Tuesday declaring it a “human right” for all North Americans.

“And soon, very soon — after the victory of our movement — we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world,” Obrador said, adding that immigrants “must leave their towns and find a life in the United States.”

Fox’s Tucker Carlson noted Thursday that Obrador has previously proposed granting amnesty to Mexican drug cartels. “America is now Mexico’s social safety net, and that’s a very good deal for the Mexican ruling class,” Carlson added.

Here’s The Truth About The Crying Girl On The Cover Of Time

A photo showing a crying child became a viral sensation for media outlets spreading lies about President Trump’s illegal immigration policies, even being featured and photoshopped alongside a towering image of the President for a Time Magazine cover.DgNgFmOW0AAITCg

The little girl, it turns out, was never at any point separated from her mother. How do we know? The father revealed the truth.

In fact, as is the point in these cases, the mother put her own child in danger by bringing her into the U.S against the father’s wishes, leaving he and three other children behind.

That’s not a good parent.

Crying migrant girl on TIME magazine cover was not separated from mother, family says

A little girl shown in a viral photo crying as a U.S. Border Patrol agent detained her mother – and used by TIME magazine to symbolize the Trump administration’s family separation policy – reportedly was never separated from her mom.

But multiple outlets interviewed the father of the girl behind the iconic image, and he said he had learned that his two-year-old daughter was detained with her mother at a facility in Texas, and the two were not separated at all. The Honduran government confirmed his version of events to Reuters.

The Washington Post reported that the mother, Sandra Sanchez, had previously been deported in 2013 to Honduras. Her husband told the Post that she left without telling him she was taking Yanela with her and couldn’t contact her.

Latino non-profit faces questions over big money, involvement in immigrant kids’ housing

As debate continues over the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy, questions are being asked about a non-profit group that has collected huge amounts of government money to house and care for thousands of immigrant children being held in the system.

Texas-based Southwest Key Programs has taken in roughly $1 billion in federal contracts since the Obama administration, and is expected to receive about $500 million this year to house and provide services for immigrant children, according to reports.

And Southwest officials receive significant compensation for their efforts. WQAD reportedtax filings show Juan Sanchez, the group’s founder and CEO, received nearly $1.5 million in 2016 – nearly twice the previous year’s salary, of $786,822. His wife, Jennifer, vice president of Southwest Key, received about $280,000 in 2015 in total compensation, WQAD reported.

VIRAL FLASHBACK: Nancy Pelosi On Immigrant Children Detained Under Obama

Once again, the House Democrats’ outspoken leader’s past statements have come back to haunt her. In some remarks from back in 2014 that have resurfaced amid the Democrats’ hypocritical hysteria over the Trump administration’s handling of illegal immigrant families,

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi struck a remarkably different tone about children detained by the Obama administration than she has about the Trump administration’s handling of the situation.

Sweden’s largest music festival cancelled over ‘migrant sex attacks’

The Bråvalla festival is Sweden’s largest music festival. Organisers have just announced that the event will come to an end after being cancelled this year due to sex attacks, local newspaper Norrköpings Tidningar reports.

Last year’s festival saw at least 11 sex attacks, three which led to arrests and the year before nearly 40 young girls complained of being sexually harassed and abused by men most often described as “foreign”.

Alexandra Larsson, a 17-year-old victim, described her attackers saying: “They were probably immigrants. I hate to say it. But it is the truth.”

Syrian migrant accused of sex crimes against 9 women in eastern Germany

Dresdner police have detained a 33-year-old Syrian man on Sunday evening. He is suspected of sexual assaults against multiple women, TAG24 reports.

One of the victims recognised him at the local BRN festival. Police detained the offender in the quarter of Neustadt after a victim had spotted him in the Louisenstraße.

Anger grows as Spain court bails sexual abuse gang

Protests were planned across Spain on Friday, after a court ordered the release on bail of five men sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing a young woman at Pamplona’s bull-running festival.

The men, who called themselves “The Pack” in a WhatsApp messaging group, had been accused of raping a woman, then 18, on July 7, 2016, at the start of the week-long San Fermin festival, which draws tens of thousands of visitors.

All five, aged between 27 and 29, were convicted of sexual abuse in April but were acquitted of the more serious crime of sexual assault — which includes rape — as the court did not consider the victim to have been subjected to intimidation or violence.

London rape crisis: US tourist raped near Trafalgar Square

There has been a 20 per cent rise in rape in London, and the authorities tell us they don’t know why. The Metropolitan Police have said they simply can’t comprehend what’s going on — but I can. And I know you can.

When we import people who have vastly different attitudes to women than us, is it any surprise that sexual assault increases? And is it a coincidence that the Office for National Statistics keeps no record of the ethnicity of offenders?
